Our Le Bosq range is a perfect example of the quality wine coming from the Languedoc Roussillon area of France. Producing 25% of all of France’s wine, Languedoc doesn’t have the strict rules and regulations that many of the French wine regions have and are therefore has more freedom to experiment. They are consistently creating wine brands which compete with the new world and Le Bosq represents French elegance while being accessible and affordable. Although the grapes do come from the Languedoc region the wine is produced under the ‘Vin de France’ label which has been in use since 2010. Vin de France represents a new generation of French wine, a world of possibility that permits producers to grow new grapes and create new blends never before seen from France.
The Le Bosq label is produced by Badet Clément who are two winemakers of Burgundian origin. The company’s mission is ‘to offer wines adapted to international markets that give consumers an experience that goes beyond their expectations’. They are basically saying that they produce wines that overdeliver for the price point which is a win for the consumer. The Le Bosq range are a fantastic, easy drinking trio of house wines and vegan friendly too!
Le Bosq Rouge is a light, fresh red made from a blend of 70% Carignan, 25% Grenache and 5% Syrah. It is unoaked and fermented at relatively cool temperatures to maintain the grapes fresh aromas. It shows redcurrant, strawberry and cherry with a note of spice. A great wine for lovers of lighter red or for those just starting out with red wines and perfect served slightly chilled.
This would make a gorgeous lunch time red or I would pair with charcuterie, a cheese board or a sausage casserole.
